What a way to close the day...

...here: Ricky Skaggs, "Highway 40 Blues," 1983. I am tired, but that song always gets me revved up. Ricky Skaggs is a master of the bluegrass-tinged traditional country, and he put out some great songs during the 1980s as well. If I remember right he did the original version of "Waitin' For the Sun to Shine," which Lee Ann Womack masterfully re-recorded on her There's More Where That Came From cd. I think "Highway 40 Blues" and "Cajun Moon" are probably my two favorites from him, though...
