At the risk of being accused of fearmongering, jumping the gun or whatnot, I think it's worth asking just how far it is from democracy to the military despotism mentioned in this document. Especially in light of this little tidbit, found over at Michael Bane's blog...
Democratic officials...(are) also telling me that the administration strategists have dismissed the first step - the AWB's resurrection and implementation - as a foregone conclusion and have already moved into the second phase of a strategy that is designed to bring the United States into compliance with the "enlightened" position on firearms ownership as set forth the United Nations.
They just don't ever stop, do they? Do these fools have any idea of what the hell they're doing? I see many states, of which Texas is one, are introducing legislation reasserting their Tenth Amendment rights. It's going to be quite interesting to see what happens when those rights (as well as the other rights mentioned in the BofR) conflict with a treaty such as the one the UN thugs tried to get passed in the summer of 2006. Can you say secession, boys and girls? I knew you could! At least I would hope the state legislatures had the stones to go that far. I hope to hell we don't ever find out, but the odds seem to be getting better that we will...
Oh, yes, this'll do, at The Roadhouse, Sirius Ch. 62: "He walked into the bar and parked his lanky frame upon a tall barstool, and with a long, soft Southern drawl, said I'll just have a glass of anything that's cool..."
